Jason Lambertson and his team at Gateway Builders built our home on the Eastern Shore. We had seen some of the other homes that Gateway Builders constructed in the community and could tell that they were of very high quality. Speaking with the owners’ of those homes gave us increased confidence as all of them said Jason is a fair and honorable person with substantial knowledge of architecture and building methods and materials. We never had the opportunity to build a new home, so we had a great deal to learn. After determining how much we could spend on this project, Jason discussed with us some of the pros and cons of a variety of home designs. We chose a great plan which offered the space and amenities we wanted and was within our budget. Having built this plan before, Jason was able to recommend some useful tweaks to the plan, such as expanding the width of the kitchen and master bedroom by two feet. It may not sound like much, but it give the house a more spacious feel. He was also able to point out places where we could economize on labor and materials. Then Jason helped us think through choosing the best site on our lot on which to build the home, and handled all of the lot clearing.
The next part of the project was a lot of fun. It involved designing the kitchen and bathrooms, selecting cabinets and counter tops, choosing tile, other flooring materials, lighting fixtures, doors and windows, and thinking about colors for the various rooms. This was followed by the final excavation, installation of the driveway, and landscaping.
Building our home was both an exciting and nerve-wracking experience. There are many important decisions to be made, and you really want to get them right. In addition, you have to carefully monitor the rate at which you are spending money so that there are no surprises. Having Gateway Builders as our partner made the entire experience an enjoyable one because we were working with an experienced and reputable builder.

Jason , a quick note to thank you again for the amazing home you built for us. It has now been about six years since we completed the project. Gateway took on a difficult task, with technology that hadn't been used on the shore, building a new "old" home that respects the area's architecture, fits the environment, and uses clean technology to minimize its impact.
